The LTSA contains Beetles 1953-57 that are currently registered or on the Restoration register. The information is non identifiable to a person or a place but does help to estimate the total number of Ovals in New Zealand (see table). 

I was surprised how many there are in New Zealand. In total there are 257 Oval Windows in NZ (that don’t have lapsed registrations). Cars that I know of from the registry have also been added to this list.

In my mind there are three éras’of ovals. The 25 horse power Oval of 1953, Heart Tail light oval with different doors and seats of 54/55 and the later Oval of 55- 57. The following is a statistical breakdown of these three eras.

The middle group is estimated as the information provided allowed only to date a car to the month.

So if you thought there are less early Ovals you are right. There are under half the number of the earlier model.
